Course 1 Discover the Canadian Standardization Network
Course 1 provides an overview of the Canadian standardization network. This includes the Standards Council of Canada's role in the network, what standards are, how to find and use them, and why they are developed.
Course 2 – Canadian Participation in International Standards Development
Course 2 provides an overview of Canada’s participation in developing international standards. This includes the Standards Council of Canada's role in the Canadian standardization network, how to participate on a mirror committee, member responsibilities, and the development of national positions/consensus views.
Course 3 – Introduction to Canadian Standards Development
Course 3 provides information about the Canadian standards development network, the development of National Standards of Canada and how to access a list of published standards.
Course 4 – SCC Orientation for the Accreditation of Standard Development Organizations
Course 4 provides an orientation on the Requirements & Guidance – Accreditation of Standards Development Organizations (R&G – SDO Accreditation), which outlines the requirements for achieving accreditation through the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a standards development organization (SDO), and the approval of standards as National Standards of Canada (NSCs).
Course 5 provides an overview of the benefits and obligations of Standards Council of Canada (SCC) membership in the International Standards Organization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This includes the sale, resale, distribution and copyrighting of ISO and IEC standards as well as national adoption.
