Wide-Cut Type Aviation Turbine Fuel
This standard applies to two grades of wide-cut type aviation turbine fuel (JET B and F-40), consisting entirely of petroleum-derived hydrocarbons, naturally occurring non-hydrocarbons and additives as specified herein. Wide-cut type aviation fuels are volatile naphtha and kerosene blends, having a wide boiling range and a low-freezing point.
Grade JET B fuel is normally used in civil aviation operations. F-40 is a NATO code number for a fuel that is normally used for military applications.
Limitations for Use - Aircraft operators should consult their aircraft manuals for the type of fuel, fuel additives and other limitations.
