The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is delighted to be hosting the 32nd annual plenary meeting and international workshop of the International Organization for Standardization’s Committee on Conformity Assessment (ISO/CASCO) in Vancouver, British Columbia from April 24-28, 2017. ISO/CASCO is the ISO committee that develops policy and publishes standards related to conformity assessment.
The ISO workshop which will follow the annual plenary meeting is titled Growing the services industry with ISO standards. This workshop will feature speakers discussing their involvement in the development of high-profile service standards, as well as leading experts from the service industry. Participants will be invited to share experiences and explore opportunities for future work on service standardization.
By actively participating in ISO/CASCO and hosting these important discussions in Canada, SCC is ensuring that Canadian interests are well represented on the world stage—bringing us one step closer to our goal of “one standard, one test...accepted everywhere."
“Conformity assessment is integral to the international standardization system,” said John Walter, SCC Chief Executive Officer. “SCC was pleased to invite ISO/CASCO members to Canada for this year's plenary meeting, in keeping with our commitment to support international cooperation for important conformity assessment issues.”
SCC welcomes the opportunity to host this event and showcase Canada to delegates from around the world during its 150th anniversary of Confederation.
