Registration Authorities (RA) and Maintenance Agencies (MA) are administrative bodies that assign globally unique codes or numbers to organizations and documents based on international standards. The SCC is the RA for issuer identification numbers (IIN)/Bank Identification Numbers (BIN). As well, it has appointed the Government Telecommunications and Infomatics Services (GTIS) the RA for the Canadian Open Systems Interconnection Registration Authority (COSIRA).
