CFIA
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is the federal agency that delivers all inspection services related to food; animal health; and plant protection. In 1998, CFIA and the SCC signed an agreement that allows non-CFIA labs to carry out certain testing if they are accredited under the SCC's Program for the Accreditation of Laboratories (PALCAN) in the Program Specialty Area for Agriculture and Food Products.
