The Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) is an economic forum established in 1989 to enhance economic growth and prosperity in the region. It is comprised of 21 member nations (including Canada) from the Asia-Pacific region. The APEC-Sub-committee on Standards and Conformance works to eliminate trade distortions arising through domestic regulations and standardization activities.
