SCC Accreditation: a mark of credibility and confidence
The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is Canada’s national accreditation body; it accredits testing and calibration laboratories, organizations that develop standards, as well as those that verify the conformity of products, processes, systems and services to specific standards.
SCC accreditation provides formal recognition of an organization’s competence to perform conformity assessments in order to determine if products, services or systems meets applicable standards.
Organizations that are accredited by the SCC, issue certificates or test reports that carry the SCC Accreditation Mark. Receipt of a certificate or test report which includes an SCC accreditation mark demonstrates that the organization’s capabilities and resources have been verified by a competent conformity assessment body, and/or that the testing has been conducted by a competent laboratory.
Because SCC accreditation is based on internationally recognized criteria, SCC accreditation provides confidence and credibility in these products, systems or services both in Canada and abroad.
The SCC Accreditation & Design Mark is an Official Mark of the Standards Council of Canada; it is used by SCC-accredited organizations that have signed an appropriate license agreement.
