The Standards Council of Canada is now a signatory to three new agreements with the InterAmerican Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC). The signing ceremony took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and means the accreditations SCC offers to certification bodies for the following schemes are now recognized globally:
- Energy Management Systems (ISO 50001)
- Medical Device Management Systems (ISO 13485)
- Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 22000)
Organizations certified to the above standards by SCC-accredited bodies will now benefit from certification that is recognized around the world. This gives them a clearer path to global markets and assists them in meeting the regulatory requirements of those markets.
This new development makes SCC a signatory to a total of eight IAAC agreements and adds to the growing list of agreements in place in the areas of Laboratory Testing, Calibration, Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems and Medical Testing.
SCC accreditation proves an organization is recognized as competent, credible and reliable. To learn more about SCC accreditation and programs, visit the accreditation program for management systems certification bodies page.
