The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is celebrating World Accreditation Day 2018 at an event for stakeholders on June 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Canada Agriculture Food Museum.
World Accreditation Day is a global initiative of the International Accreditation Forum and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation. The international theme for 2018 is how accreditation delivers a safer world. SCC will focus on food safety, in particular, and we are delighted to announce that Dr. Primal Silva, Chief Science Operating Officer at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency will be our keynote speaker for this event. Dr. Silva will speak about the importance of accreditation in ensuring that Canada’s food is safe.
This event is a stakeholder networking opportunity for people interested in learning more about the benefits of accreditation and the important role it plays in ensuring food safety in Canada.
