The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), has announced the reappointment of Ms. Kathy Milsom as member of SCC’s Governing Council and Chair.
Ms. Milsom will lead the 13-person Governing Council which oversees SCC. She will work closely with the Council and the Chief Executive Officer to set the strategic direction of the organization and fulfill its mandate.
SCC would like to thank Dr. Sam Shaw for his leadership and support as Acting Chair since April 2016.
SCC is a Crown corporation and part of the Innovation, Science and Economic Development portfolio. SCC leads and facilitates the development and use of national and international standards to enhance Canada's economic competitiveness and social well-being through innovative standardization solutions. In addition, SCC coordinates the efforts of Canadians in the development and use of standards and delivers accreditation services to customers.
