The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce that NSF International has been accredited by SCC to develop National Standards of Canada. The accreditation became effective July 7, 2014. NSF International is a global public health organization with 70 years of standards development, certification and testing expertise.
“The accreditation of NSF International as a standards development organization (SDO) in Canada supports SCC’s objective of offering greater choice to government, industry, and consumer groups,” said SCC’s Chief Executive Officer, John Walter. “With more standardization solutions available in the Canadian marketplace, stakeholders will be better served.”
NSF International has met SCC’s rigorous program requirements for the accreditation of SDOs. Since 1997, NSF International has also been SCC-accredited under the Certification Body Accreditation program, in subject areas related to health, safety, electrical and fire safety, as well as performance. In addition, NSF International has earned accreditation under SCC’s Laboratory Accreditation program for test method development and non-routine test methods, and is recognized under its Good Laboratory Practice Recognition program.
