The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) today announced that Pat Paladino, P.Eng has joined the organization as its' Director of Conformity Assessment.
Mr. Paladino brings to the SCC his extensive knowledge and experience in certification, testing and standards development, as well as in domestic and international issues. Prior to joining the SCC, Mr. Paladino held numerous executive positions at the Canadian Standards Association including, that of Vice-President of Certification and that of Vice-President of Standards Development. More recently he was with Intertek Testing Services as Vice-President of Engineering. Mr. Paladino has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and is registered as a professional engineer. He is also an active member of numerous, standardization- working groups, committees and boards.
Mr. Paladino takes over from Don Wilson who recently announced his retirement from the SCC. Mr. Wilson will remain with the SCC until December 2002, working with Mr. Paladino to ensure a smooth transition.
The Standards Council of Canada is a Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective use of voluntary standardization, and is Canada's representative at ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The Standards Council coordinates and oversees the efforts of the National Standards System and offers a variety of standardization-related programs and services.
