The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) will hold a two-day training workshop, Internal Auditing for Testing Laboratories, May 5 to 6, 2014, from 8 to 5 p.m. The workshop will be held in English only, during the 2014 Canadian Society of Forensic Sciences Conference. The venue is the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Centre Gatineau-Ottawa in Gatineau, Quebec.
What does the workshop provide for?
The training workshop will provide the knowledge for managing and conducting an effective internal audit (first party) of a laboratory and an understanding of the internal audit steps. The content of ISO 19011 Guidelines for auditing management systems forms the basis for the workshop. The workshop is intended specifically for personnel in organizations that have implemented or are implementing systems conforming to ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The workshop will be led by Stephen Cross, former Vice-President of Accreditation Services for SCC.
Who should attend?
All laboratory personnel who directly participate in the internal audit of a laboratory, and/or in the design and implementation of the quality system of a laboratory, should attend. Laboratory quality managers responsible for designing and implementing the internal audit program of a laboratory should also attend, as should supervisors and managers of laboratories that hold or seek accreditation.
What is the cost?
