Governing Council

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) reports to Parliament through the Minister of Industry. Appointed by an Order-in-Council to represent a broad spectrum of stakeholder interests, the Governing Council:

  • Is comprised of 13 members;
  • Sets the strategic direction of the organization;
  • Ensures the fulfillment of SCC's mandate; and
  • Provides direction on governance issues.

Council Support

Standing committees play an important role in supporting governance approaches.

Advisory committees ensure council maintains access to a wide variety of advice, information and perspectives.
